History

Unlike all the other Havelis of Rajasthan, Samode Palace belonged to a noble family, the Rawals of Samode, instead of a royal family. The building dates back about 400 years ago, with some modifications and additions. In turn, this family is descended from Prithvi Singh of Amber (1503-1528), the seventeenth prince from the house of Kachwaha Rajputs, who are descended from Lord Rama.
